Tim Filston

Associate Pastor of Congregational Life

Tim loves to see people discover their passion and to find better focus through ministry.  But Tim says, "The benefit to people defining a role is the greater potential to lend their strength."  Tim helps oversee our partnerships with more than 40 agencies in the region.  "We want not only to maintain our support for these efforts, but also to develop footholds for leadership throughout the city."  Tim helped develop SMPC's contemporary worship service on Sunday evenings. 

Before coming to Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, Tim served as Minister of Inreach at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, an urban church of approximately 5600 members. Tim had specific responsibility for oversight in Christian Education and Ministry Development.

He has also served as Minister of Youth and Missions at the Windwood Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and received a Bachelors Degree in English Literature from Furman University.
