Assistant Pastor
The Reverend David J. Burke and his wife Kelsey came to Chattanooga in July of 1998. God called them to the ministry called The House: University Ministries of Chattanooga. They have fallen in love with the city, and the work that He has given them to do. In ten years, they have seen God grow this ministry to now a weekly worship service of over 200 students, with the majority of them in small group Bible study, service in the community and the church, and participating in short-term mission trips around the world.
David grew up in Seattle, Washington, and went to college at a small liberal arts school called Pomona College in California. After graduating from Pomona, he served for four years in college ministries in Washington State and Colorado. He then attended Princeton Theological Seminary. Kelsey grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kelsey has worked as a director for Latin American Missions at a missions agency in Virginia, as a missions director for Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, and now is a full-time mom for our three children. She leads a Bible study for women during the week, and enjoys painting, hiking, gardening, reading, and dreaming up new decorating ideas for our house. David enjoys golf, basketball, reading, and doing whatever Kelsey dreams up for their home. They have three children, Hudson (7), McLean (3 1/2), and Crew (2).
