Preschool

The Preschool Division of Presbyterian Day School runs three days a week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A child must be three years old to enter the preschool and can continue until they are five years old. Children leave our preschool ready for Kindergarten.

Objectives of the Preschool Division

  • To provide the child with a loving Christian environment that will promote a quality learning experience, encourage curiosity, reasoning, and social interaction.
  • To provide the child with a learning environment which will help him/her to grow and develop physically, intellectually, and spiritually in a manner appropriate to his age and level of development.
  • To encourage self-confidence and self-discipline which will assist in the development of the child's emotional and social health.
  • To provide a Christian based curriculum that enhances the child's cognitive processes with a variety of teaching techniques that will offer the child a "hands on" approach to learning.
  • To provide a strong Biblical foundation on basic truths in the Bible, using Bible stories, songs, and Christian example.
  • To encourage independence in the child, while emphasizing and promoting a sharing and caring environment with their peers.

Wee Care DivisionThe Wee Care Division of the Presbyterian Day School operates on a two day a week schedule or a one day a week schedule. Two days a week are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. One day a week is on Wednesdays. The hours for Wee Care are also 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A child must be six weeks old to enter Wee Care and can continue until they are three and ready to go on to preschool.

Objectives of the Wee Care Division

  • To provide the child with a loving Christian environment that will encourage curiosity, reasoning, and social interaction.
  • To provide a strong Biblical foundation on basic truths in the Bible, using Bible stories, songs, and Christian nurturing.
  • To provide a Christian based curriculum that offers introduction to basic cognitive development and positive social interaction with his/her peers.

Board
The Presbyterian Day School is governed by a board which answers directly to the Session (Elders) of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Our sincere desire and goal is to honor our Lord by teaching and caring for the children who are a part of the Presbyterian Day School.
