The Presbyterian Day School class of 2011 graduated on Thursday, May 19.

Friends and family enjoyed a short music program followed by a reception and time of fellowship.  Our very best wishes to the 35 students who will be moving on to Kindergarten in the fall. Seven will be returning this fall for our Pre-K class.  We pray that all of our families enjoy a happy and safe summer, and we look forward to seeing you for the 2011-2012 school year!

Presbyterian Day School is a weekday ministry which provides care and instruction for children ages six weeks to five years old. Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church founded the school in 1996 to serve the families of the Signal Mountain Community. The preschool division is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Human Services and has received the highest three star rating from the state based on the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales.

Presbyterian Day School Class Schedule

Infant, Toddler, and Two-Year-Old Classes:  Tuesday & Thursday OR Wednesday Only from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Threes, Fours, and Pre-K Classes: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The Wee Care division of PDS serves children ages six months through two years. Objectives are to provide Christian care and nurturing in an environment that will encourage a child’s spiritual growth, positive social interaction, and physical and mental development.

The Preschool division serves children ages three and four with two classes for each age group. Classrooms are designed for a play-centered approach to learning, and lessons are carefully planned to include varied and challenging materials to stimulate children of differing abilities and needs. The Christian-based curriculum provides for all areas of development; including the specific social, motor, emotional, and cognitive requirements of early childhood and preparation for kindergarten.

The Pre-K class serves children who have turned 5 by September 30 and have completed a 4-year-old preschool program, but whose parents have chosen to delay their entrance into kindergarten to allow for an additional year of preschool preparation.
