Sunday Mornings for Adults

Here at Signal Mountain Presbyterian, we have dedicated an hour every Sunday morning from 9:15-10:15 as an avenue for studying God's Word.  This is where our large congregation breaks down into smaller groups to study together, care for each other and serve others.  We invite you to come explore the Word, connect with others just like you and in the process... be transformed.

“The Journey” is a trip through the Bible, book-by-book. Our goal is to help everyone see for themselves the “thread” of Christ that runs through the entire Bible. We begin this semester with Isaiah and continue our journey through the Old Testament. It isn’t necessary to have started with us – we welcome you to jump in at any time! Contact Kim at kimbb21@aol.com

This year’s study of Scripture will begin with “Heroes of the Faith” found in Hebrews 11 and selected portions of the Old Testament. “Proverbs Chapter 3” comes next. Our spring 2012 study is “Abiding in Christ”. There is always a lively discussion of questions everyone has about Scripture.   Contact Priscilla at pmcaine@msn.com

We are excited to offer the following studies for 2011-2012. “The Art of Marriage” - by Family Life and “The Five Love Languages” - by Gary Chapman. Both are excellent studies and will serve as powerful tools in our quest to build stronger marriages and have a faith that will impact our families.

Our study of the book of James will begin in September to be followed with other New Testament Epistles. We love to dig deep and discuss the Scriptures. Although many of us have been friends for years, we always welcome new faces into our midst.  Contact Scot at 774-3063 or chattpac1@gmail.com

Faith and Doubt is the theme for this year’s study. You know what you believe.  Do you know why you believe it? Our lingering questions say more about us than nearly anything else.  Ignoring them hurts.  Pursuing them helps.

September: Culture/Worldview - How assumptions shape everything.   October: Who made God? - Finding certainty in things unseen.  November: Marriage and Family - The dream and the realities.  December:  Scripture - Reliable, practical, and mysterious.   January:  Longings - Dealing with anxious thoughts.  February: Science - Where is the conflict?  March: Politics - The tangle of faith in public life.  April: Suffering and Evil - Big Kahuna questions.  May: Miracles-God’s Winks.
