At-Home Support

Medical Closet

Mission:  To make the ministry of healing practical by linking specific needs during a member's rehabilitation to resources of the closet.

Through this program, we provide free use of specialized medical equipment subject to its availability.  The intent is to support families of the church by loaning equipment that has already been purchased and donated, making recovery less stressful and less expensive.

For more information about this service, please contact the church office.

Transportation

Mission:  To provide assistance and fellowship, driving worshippers to church who otherwise could not attend, and escorting them to medical appointments.

We will provide occasional transportation for church and community members to attend church functions, doctors appointments, do grocery shopping, etc., when necessary.  We have available a Handicapped Van.  This handicapped van enables disabled church members to attend church functions.

Please contact the church office for more information.

Counseling

Every once in a while, most people can benefit from checking in with a trusted counselor—friend or professional.

There are three main categories to this kind of reflection.  The first is an adjustment that requires short-term feedback.   Second,  A relational conflict that needs mediation.  The third is a life-pattern that needs to be unlearned.  For this third category, people often seek long-term counseling.  But that approach is not for everyone.

The alternative?  What if there were a course that could explore what makes you tick without making yourself into a pet project?  What if there were a way to learn about patterns that make for healthy relationships and clarify  the ones that are not healthy?  There is, and it is called Life Skills.  Life Skills is a big commitment.  It puts you in explore mode for about six months.  But considering the years that shape us and the years ahead, is it not well worth the time of assessment?

To learn more about this dynamic experience, call Peggy LaRochelle, a church member, or the Lighthouse Counseling Center at 499-9335.  Or, you are welcome to call the church office at 886-2190 for more information.
